| Zoe Owen-Finn, 15, performs 'Jolene' at Siren Nation's 7th Annual Dolly Parton Hoot Night |
Siren Nation is a unique arts organization that showcases and creates performance and exhibition opportunities for women throughout the year. Siren Nation is the only women’s collective that produces an annual festival showcasing the original work of women working in music, film, performance and visual art.
Personally, I can't say enough about Siren Nation. I showed my artwork for the first time 5 years ago through a Siren Nation visual art show and just this past Friday my daughter, Zoe, sang and played guitar for her first performance at a Siren Nation event.
Portland is the best place to live in the world but it's competitive here for artists. I do not think I would be where I'm at as an artist if it were not for the support of Siren Nation.
Siren Nation is currently undergoing a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for their next annual festival so that they can offer even more opportunities for women artists. Please consider donating here. There are only 2 days left.
